A small amount of progress over the break from work, I repaired the wiring loom and installed in the frame, along with the airbox. The wiring loom had been attacked by mice, and also had some incorrect connectors fitted....

Hello all, I've not been on the forum for a while but I have been busy. The SS50e restoration is complete. I built an SS50z spec motor for it as this appears to be the most powerful version - around 6bhp allegedly - the original engine sits in a box awaiting restoration to standard specification.
The UK SS50z had an alloy cylinder, larger finned cylinder head, 20mm carburetor, advancing flywheel, 613 camshaft, and 5-speed transmission.
I've not ridden it much yet, but a 'warmer' engine is on stand-by should I find the 50cc a bit slow .

still, it's the fastest 50cc bike ever produced by Honda. correct me if i'm wrong.
just need to shift from 4 to 5 at 10000+ rpm. mine does about 45-50mph.
